Well, it has been almost a month since my last post, and for that I apologize. Life has been hectic around here, but I do have some nice photos to share, so hopefully that will make up for it.
First up is my work in progress Skaven Warlord Rat Ogre Bonebreaker. You may notice that this looks more like a wolf, so let me explain. I have seen the Forge World Wolf Rats, and I want my warlord to look large and imposing. My idea is that the Warlord somehow managed to beat this Wolf Rat in a fight, and now rides it to war along side a pack of Wolf Rats. The body is from the Space Wolves Thunderwolf kit, and I have to say that these wolves are massive. I was not prepared for the size, and I had trouble mounting him on the right base.
Next up are some lovely Dark Eldar. I have gone with a purple for my Kabal, as it is a color I don’t see very often on Dark Eldar. This first chap is my test mini that I did, and I am very happy with how his armour turned out. The eyes and other glowy bits are a bright green, giving the army some good contrast. I have gone for some OSL effects on his eyes, and I wanted to try something new. Overall, I am very happy with him, and I have the rest of the sqaud in the works right now.
Speaking of Dark Eldar, here are the Reaver Jetbikes I have been working on. First off, let me say that this kit is a lot of work. If you plan on line highlighting like I have, then be prepared to spend a good amount of time on each bike. I feel that in the end it’s worth it, but just a warning. I am going for the same colors as my Warriors, and I am looking forward to paining some nice bright green designs onto the bikes after I finish the purple.
And last but not least is a real treat. During a bitz trade with one of my friends at the local GW, I managed to get my hands on a very old marine. This is an original Rogue Trader plastic marine, the humble RTB01. I love this guy, and he has been a ton of fun to put together. I did have to play around with his arms to get his Bolter to look right, but it was worth it. This is my 25th anniversary mini, and I will be painting him up in the colors of the Crimson Fists.
I will have some painted pictures of him up very soon, along with some Salamanders movie marines that I got as a commission.
And one last thing. On Wednesday I turned 21, and my girlfriend made me this amazing cake. It both looks and tasted amazing, and it was easily the best Birthday cake I have ever had.
Until next time folks.
