Carcharodons Kill Team
I started this project back in 2014, making almost 20 art scale marines to near completion using the methods I’d seen by Doghouse and lamenter. For those who don’t know, the art scale/true scale method was an idea to make Space Marines better proportioned and larger, to match the artwork and what had been described in the background. GW has since moved towards better proportions on the newer marine releases and the Primaris Marines.
To start playing Kill Team with a good friend, I decided to revisit a few of those Marines. I finished off 6 Marines to represent a Primaris Intercessor Squad and Primaris Lieutenant, who I’ve named Kyras Redmaw, and added 3 Primaris Reivers to the team.
I plan to add more characters to the team, taking full advantage of the various commanders available to Space Marines.
Trysanna, these Carcharodons are banging! I would like to see a tutorial on how you created them with that dusty red martian sand. Do you have any tips for painting their symbol as well?
I’ll be sure to take notes next time I paint some Sharks. For the Chapter Symbol, I started off with a sort of C shape, and bulked out the main body, making sure I was happy with that before adding the fins. Hope that helps!

First of all, so glad to see this place back in business — or rather, to see a new, functioning blog displaying your excellent work!
Secondly, those Carcharodons are quite wonderful! One of your older Space Sharks was an instrumental piece of inspiration when I built a Carcharodon member for my Deathwatch kill team last year, so I am even more glad to see you build some more models for the chapter — an excellent squad with lots of neat little touches!

I’m glad the first of my Sharks could inspire you to add the coolest chapter to your Deathwatch! I’ve already started on a company Ancient and Librarian, so they might be joining the Carcharodons soon.
