Angron, Primarch of the World Eaters.
Quite a while ago (back in may) I received Angron from my girlfriend as a gift. I am sad to say it has taken me so long to finally paint him and call him done, but I was putting quite a bit of pressure on myself to make him look as good as I possibly could. I put too much pressure on myself, and didn’t focus on enjoying the project.
I am happy to say now that I have finished Angron, and had a blast doing so. I went for the traditional color scheme, and added a lot of blood. I would love to pick up another Primarch sometime soon, maybe Lorgar. But for now, let’s look at The Red Angel.
As you can see, I used a fair bit of blood on this piece. As Angron is known for being a berserker in combat, and a gladiator, I wanted to show just how much devastation he could wreck upon his enemies. The base was a lot of fun, as was the cape.
Here is a view from above, showing off how dynamic the model is. You really get a sense of Angron charging with the long stride and the Marines falling behind him.
Here is a shot of the additional base. As you can see, Angron just slots in, although it can be a little tricky. The plinth is something I picked up a while back just for this project, and I felt this model deserved to be raised up a little higher than usual. I then glued the base to it, and added some extra sand on the edges to tie it all together.
And here you can see Angron, in all his glory. He is mounted on a 40mm base, and is quite massive. Defiantly a centerpiece model, and something that I had a blast painting. As I said, it took me a while to finish, but the results are worth it, I think. For those curious, I will be posting up a tutorial soon on how to paint the Sons of Horus, so keep an eye out for that!
Cheers!
