Imperial Fist Space Marine

I like Space Marines. Dare I say, I love them. I adore the faction and its place in 40k and I’ve always loved the aesthetic and models. I’m less fond of their current oversaturation within 40k, and I wanted to revisit a bit of what made me fall in love with them over 15 years ago.

Instead of a squad of Marines, I decided to make a single warrior. And instead of a shinning paragon, I went with something a bit more weathered. The base for this model is one of the Plague Marines from the Death Guard range, with any mutations of symbols of Nurgle cut away. I used a few parts from across the Space Marine Range for the final look, including a MK4 backpack, MK3 shoulders and chest, and MK7 helmet.

I had an idea that this Imperial Fist would stalk the Underhives of Necromunda, searching out potential candidates for induction into the Chapter.

I had a blast converting and painting this Marine, and I’d like to try something like this again for another Chapter, perhaps the Ultramarines or Space Wolves. A single warrior that returns to the days when Space Marines were rarely seen mythical figures.

I’ve seen alot of conversions making the Death Guard minis into loyalist space marines before, but this is probably my favourite so far. Awesome work.

Thanks! The Death Guard stuff is perfect for that bulky, threatening vibe. I have some ideas to do a few more.

I loooooooove this on every level. Stellar conversion, grimdark paintjob, great inspirational story. Too bad you don’t publish some of these older posts on your Instagram.

Thanks very much! I’ll have to get around to doing that, I forget what I have and haven’t shown off on various platforms.
